Bais Yaakov Netiv Batya
Yam Hachesed – for education

Netiv Batya is an elementary Bais Yaakov school for girls located in the Bucharian neighborhood of Jerusalem. In 2018, Netiv Batya won the Jerusalem Municipality award as the best elementary school in Jerusalem. Author Sara Yoheved Rigler calls Netiv Batya, “the school of love,” because of the loving care that the administration and teachers bestow on every student. The school is unique in many ways. Unlike other Bais Yaakov schools, it teaches English from the first grade. The school has a greenhouse donated by a Yam Hachesed donor where lettuce and herbs are grown using the latest hydroponic methods. The girls are taught agronomy and related sciences; they do all the work in the greenhouse, and get to harvest and take home their crops. Thanks to private Yam Hachesed donors, the school also has: a music room with a large professional grade studio where the children learn to play various instruments. a large, well-equipped computer room, where students learn computer skills and graphic art that will in the long run boost their employment prospects Ohr Batya strives to imbue each child with a high quality Jewish education while also allowing every girl to explore and develop in her own direction. We have an extended number of staff and we invest in each girl individually. We view every girl in our school as a holy mission, and give personal attention to each and every one of them. Ohr Batya is under the umbrella of Hachinuch Haatzmai in Israel, which is under the guidance of Gedolei Hador.
